So day two didn't really exist...I couldn't really sleep on the plane, and because we went on a tour right after we got into town, basically we just rolled right into another period of daylight following the red eye flight. The tour was nice, especially after it stopped raining, and I already posted some photos from that journey. It is much cooler (temperature-wise) here then I predicted it would be, but nevertheless, it is very nice.
To start the tour we had a nice lunch. I had schnitzel, my favorite German food from my younger years, covered in Mushrooms with French Fries. It was really good, and it was nice getting to know other members of the group (there are about 25 of us here). Following the tour, several of us went to an Irish pub we spotted while meandering through the town. I tried to order some beer in German, and bartender said "dude, just speak English." The beer wasn't half bad, and it was great meeting some more people at the pub. I left with Erica and Robbie early; we came back to the hotel and I fell asleep around 8:45pm. This of course prompted me to wake up at 5:30 this morning, perpetuating my jet-lag. No worries, it gave me some time to relax, do the readings for class, and grab breakfast. Before I head off to class, here are some pictures of my room...its really nice!

Wow! When Jim was in Germany, his hotel room (and bed) were tiny.
ReplyDelete5:30am really isnt "jet lag" worthy, LOL. Plenty of people get up at 5:30am on purpose, silly!
