Friday I woke up early to get all the breakfast I didn’t have the day before. It was our last morning at the City hotel, so I wanted to take advantage of the last “free” food I would have for a while. Then it was off to WHU where we had a three hour lecture about environmental sustainability in the EU. It was interesting, but not as captivating or riveting as previous lectures. Additionally, we had to play the game “Guess what the professor is thinking,” as he was always asking questions with very specific answers. Its never fun and I always lose.
After lunch, we gave our presentations, which all were very good, and given the broad assignment description, none of them looked alike. Presentations in the Business school are quite different. There is less stress on resources used, little interest in bullet points, and naturally, more formal. This was jarring, but not unmanageable. After the presentations, we returned to the hotel to grab our things and jump on the bus to Frankfurt. I took the bus trip to catch up on writing these posts.
When we arrived in Frankfurt we took a few minutes to “explore” the spacious hotel room.

We then began walking around the city, and found a nice local place where we sat out side under heat posts (space heaters in the shape of lamp posts). It was a little chilly, but still beautiful night (particularly given the fact it had stopped raining). The meal was excellent! All of us got Schnitzel, in a traditional German sauce, and all of us agreed it was delicious.

We also tried some of Frankfurt’s famous Apfelwein. It was very inexpensive yet really tasty. It tasted like a combination of champagne and apple juice…it was very sour, but so good. On the way home a few people decided a cab ride would be better than a cold walk home, but a few of us opted for an adventure. We were quickly rewarded, as we found the river and enjoyed a beautiful picture of the Fankfurt Skyline, it was incredible.

We got back to the hotel and went to sleep immediately, as we had to leave the hotel at 5 am in order to catch our 7:30 flight to Budapest. Now, we are waiting to board, and enjoying the down time before exploring a whole new city!
