I have decided to start a blog to highlight some of the cool aspects of my trip to Europe this May. The purpose of this blog is twofold. First, in an effort to retain and engage in the material I am learning, explaining it to others seems to be a very effective way of understanding concepts that will be foreign in all senses of the word. Considering I know nothing of business other than Lemonade stands and the sharp remarks people throw at “B-school kids,” I feel like I stand to learn a lot, but also have no idea what I am getting myself into. Ideally, this blog will help me comprehend everything and put things in perspective.
The second motivation for making this online log is maintain a connection with friends and family back home and around the world. I am unsure of how much internet access I will have, and how much I want to have; facebook is great, but if I am going to escape right, it might be time to kick the habit for a month or so. Beyond that, phone calls, bbms, and texts are going to be limited, which means an online journal might be a proper form of communication.
But there is a lot to live up to with blogging. Several of my fellow Wolverines have dazzled me with their cool pictures and interesting narratives on their study abroad journals. My plan is to update at least twice a week, but we’ll see how that goes. I took a camera, so this might just be pictures and less words.
I won’t specifically be reflecting on any of my experiences here. I have a small notebook for more personal grappling with the information which will take place outside of this blog. I am sure some thoughts will leak onto this page, but for the most part this will be a summarized version of my trip.
Thanks for reading, Go Blue!
PS- A note to Chinsky: I won’t be coming up with a creative name for this piece, although if you have any suggestions, I would gladly take them. (Seriously, please help).

This is wonderful and I plan to read it every day. Great photos. I am especially thinking about how the advent calendar might look in December. I love that I can see your photos and read your blog.
